• Shopping and Entertainment

Shopping and entertainment are two key words associated with Versilia, which has always been a favourite destination for lovers of nightlife and Italian fashion. On the one hand there are the luxury boutiques much loved by celebrities, the craft workshops and the markets, and on the other hand there are bars and clubs, so everyone can find what they want here.

Shopping in Versilia

The most famous luxury shopping area in Versilia is definitely Forte dei Marmi. Along the main streets, in the area between Piazza Garibaldi, Via Roma, Via Mazzini and Piazza Dante, are the boutiques of major international fashion brands such as Prada, Cèline, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci and many more. If haute-couture does not interest you, you might want to go to Forte anyway for its antiques since there is a dedicated market every second weekend of the month. A final must in Forte dei Marmi: the weekly Wednesday market where you can get a real deal on trendy clothes. Even the Viareggio Promenade houses shops that should be jotted on the agenda of every true fashionista.

All the towns in Versilia have their own weekly market that each holds on different days, always in the morning: on Monday it is held in Lido of Camaiore and Seravezza; on Tuesday in Massarosa and Capezzano Pianore; on Wednesday, as we said, in Forte dei Marmi; on Thursday in Viareggio and Pietrasanta (Piazza Statuto) ; on Friday in Camaiore, Vallecchia and Torre del Lago; and on Saturday in Tonfano and Querceta. At these markets, in addition to food, there are stalls selling clothes, bags, perfumes and much more. Every second and fourth weekend of the month, along Lungomare Europa in Lido di Camaiore, you can find the #InVersilia promotional fair, craft markets and local products.

Going around these markets is a perfect way to integrate into the local social fabric and glimpse at everyday life.

Entertainment in Versilia

In addition to being a popular destination for shopping, Versilia has a lively nightlife, with many options including discos, clubs and bars. Some of these places are real institutions that have hosted, over the years, the international rich and famous, such as Capannina di Franceschi in Forte dei Marmi and Bussola in Marina di Pietrasanta. Among the legendary clubs, there is also Seven Apples and Twiga.

Torre del Lago has, over the years, become the main place for Italian gay tourism. Along Viale Europa, on the sea front, there is the beach on one side and several local restaurants, cocktail bars, lounge bars, clubs and discos on the other.
